• The Child Safeguarding Officer is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of child and youth safeguarding across all SOS Children’s Villages Cambodia programs, villages, schools, and partner activities.
• The role focuses on prevention, staff and caregiver capacity building, safeguarding compliance, and support to incident management processes.
• The position works closely with program, HR, education, and village teams to ensure safeguarding policies, codes of conduct, and reporting mechanisms are understood and consistently applied.
• The Child Safeguarding Officer also supports training, risk assessments, documentation, and follow-up actions to strengthen a safe and protective environment for children and young people.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safeguarding Systems and Compliance Support the implementation of SOS Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and related procedures across all locations.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are understood and applied by staff, caregivers, volunteers, interns, and partners.
• Conduct routine safeguarding compliance checks at village, school, and project levels.
• Support integration of safeguarding into program design, SOPs, HR processes, and partnerships.
• Prevention and Capacity Building Plan and deliver safeguarding orientations and refresher trainings for staff, caregivers, youth, and partners.
• Support child-friendly and youth-friendly awareness activities on safety, rights, and reporting mechanisms.
• Contribute to the development or adaptation of safeguarding tools, IEC materials, and training resources suitable for Cambodia’s context.
