About the role

Analyze available P. knowlesi case data reported between 2023 and 2026 to describe the demographic, geographic, and epidemiological characteristics of confirmed cases.
Characterize demographic, occupational, behavioral, and environmental risk factors associated with P. knowlesi infection through interviews with former patients and key informants.
Map the geographic distribution of confirmed cases, potential transmission hotspots using spatial analysis of case, environmental, and risk factor data.
Map the presence and distribution of potential host populations (macaques) in affected areas using spatial analysis of case, environmental, and risk factor data.
Prepare a comprehensive assessment report and present findings to CNM and relevant stakeholders, highlighting key findings, identified transmission hotspots, and strategic recommendations for policy and programmatic action.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Geography, Tropical Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience conducting public health assessments, epidemiological studies, or malaria-related research.
Demonstrated experience in field data collection and key informant interviews.
Experience with GIS mapping and spatial analysis.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
Familiarity with Cambodia's malaria surveillance system and malaria elimination program is highly desirable.
Ability to travel extensively to remote and forested areas within Cambodia.
Fluency in Khmer and proficiency in English.
