About the role
- Production, WIP & Inventory Accounting Control
- Own the accounting control over the full production and inventory flow from raw material receipt and issuance, production consumption and stage-based WIP through completion, transfer to finished goods, Stock Center, and other inventory locations.
- Ensure production and inventory transactions are complete, accurate, properly supported, and recorded in the correct period in SAP B1, including receipts, issues, returns, transfers, WIP movements, finished goods receipts, scrap, damage, re, and approved adjustments.
- Review and reconcile raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and other inventory balances between production records, job cards/batch records, warehouse records, physical counts, SAP B1, and the general ledger.
- Lead Finance participation in cycle counts and year-end physical inventory counts; investigate variances and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Monitor aged or unusual WIP, negative stock, unrecorded consumption, damaged/obsolete stock, unusual inventory movements, and other exceptions requiring accounting or operational follow-up.
- Ensure appropriate month-end and year-end cut-off for production and inventory movements. 2. Product Costing & Variance Management
- Lead product costing and maintain reliable cost structures for raw materials, direct labor, outsourced , and production overhead allocation.
- Coordinate periodic standard cost updates and ensure approved costing methods are applied consistently across relevant product categories and production activities.
- Analyze actual versus standard cost and identify significant material, labor, overhead, usage, purchase price, yield, and other production cost variances.
- Determine and support the appropriate accounting treatment of production and inventory cost variances, including amounts attributable to inventory/WIP and amounts recognized in COGS, in line with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
- Provide product cost, gross margin, and variance analysis to support management decisions, pricing, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability review. 3. Month-End Closing, Reporting & Planning
- Lead monthly closing for production accounting, inventory, WIP, standard cost variances, and COGS within the Finance closing timetable.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, s, and supporting ing papers for production costs and inventory accounts.
- Prepare concise monthly management reporting on inventory, WIP, COGS, gross margin, cost variances, damaged/obsolete stock, and significant exceptions, with clear explanations and recommended actions.
- Ensure material unexplained differences are investigated, resolved, or formally escalated to the Finance Director on a timely basis.
- Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial analysis with production cost assumptions, inventory trends, and cost projections. 4. Internal Control, Audit & Compliance
- Maintain effective internal controls over production accounting, inventory, and costing, including segregation of duties, approvals, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
- Ensure accounting treatment and operating practices comply with Artisans Angkor accounting policies, approved SOPs, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare audit s and supporting evidence for inventory existence and valuation, WIP, COGS, standard costing, and production cost variances; respond to audit requests on time.
- Follow up audit findings and control gaps relating to inventory, WIP, costing, damaged stock, and production documentation until agreed actions are completed.
- Support the development, implementation, training, and periodic review of relevant Finance policies, SOPs, and production/inventory control procedures. 5. SAP B1 & Process Improvement
- Act as the Finance process owner for production costin
