About the role

To manage and maintain the Bank's databases, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with business requirements through proper and regular software installation and update as well as provide support in software development and testing.
Major Areas of Responsibility: Installation and updating of new software: Install new versions of Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL database software.
Implement HA and DR using Data Guard and RAC for Oracle Database.
Build and manage Data Guard Physical/Logical Standby Databases using Data Guard Broker.
Design, implement, and maintain Oracle, MSSQL, MYSQL and Postgres database systems.
Implement HA and DR for Oracle, MSSQL, MYSQL and Postgres database.
Conduct maintenance of database servers, core banking application servers and related servers.
Control access permissions and privileges of databases.
Maintain secure storage of databases backup.
Arrange stand-by database, real application cluster and disaster recovery of databases.
Troubleshoot any oracle database problems.
Ensure maximum uptime and performance of the software.
Restore database to the testing environment (UAT).
Development and Testing Support: Provide support to programmer and software engineers to efficiently utilize the database.
Document the configuration of database and troubleshooting scenario.
Conduct configuration and patching Oracle.
Participate in design reviews as required to ensure database design meets the best practice.
Proactively performs database monitoring and performance tuning tasks.
Identify and provide solutions to performance issues in multiple database environments.
Provide automation to standardize DBA tasks.
Develop scripts on UNIX platforms as necessary.
Review and enforce adherence to the company's Architecture, as well as database design and usage standards.
Ensure understanding of database high availability technologies and provide recommendation in implementing appropriate solutions.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as DBA or in banking sector.
Holding Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate is preferable Having basic knowledge in Oracle Golden Gate is preferable.
Experience with Linux System Administration.
Be honest, quick learner, flexible and punctual.
Willing to work as a team.
