About the role

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with GEF guidelines and the project's Knowledge Management and Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
Coordinate communication across all project outputs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with project goals and stakeholder needs.
Organize and support stakeholder engagement processes.
Facilitate transparent and inclusive communication with all stakeholder groups, including government agencies, community members, the private sector, NGOs, and academia.
Support training and capacity-building initiatives for government personnel and community members, including collaborating with technical leads to design and disseminate training materials.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and stakeholder engagement efforts.
Serve as the primary liaison between the project and media outlets.
Facilitate effective internal communication among project partners, government ministries, and implementing entities.
Perform other duties as required by the National Project Manager.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Communications, , Public Relations, Development Communication, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
Communications, public relations, media relations, knowledge management, or stakeholder engagement for 5 years.
Experience working with development projects funded by UN agencies, GEF, GCF, bilateral donors, DPs, INGOs, or government programmes particularly with MoE is highly desirable.
Proven experience in designing and implementing communication and visibility strategies.
Proven ability to develop and implement a Communication and Visibility Strategy aligned with the requirements and guidelines of the Ministry of Environment (MoE), UNDP, DPs and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
Demonstrated experience in translating complex technical interventions related to climate change adaptation, agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, and integrated crop systems into clear, compelling, and audience-friendly narratives, reports, and communication products.
Experience producing communication and outreach materials including: Success stories; Case studies; Newsletters; Press releases; Brochures and fact sheets; Social media content and Videos and photo stories.
Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and digital communication campaigns.
Experience organizing workshops, public awareness campaigns, media events, field visits, and stakeholder consul.
