About the role

  • Assist the National Project Manager (NPM) in daily project management and implementation, ensuring alignment with project objectives, components, outcomes, outputs, and activities.
  • Support the NPM in achieving all project objectives, components, outcomes, outputs, and activities within the five-year project timeframe.
  • Assist the NPM in managing project implementation, including staff performance, financial management, administrative tasks, logistics, procurement, ICT development, and capacity building for the project team.
  • Support relationship management with key stakeholders and participate in human resource processes, including the recruitment and selection of national and international consultants and consulting firms.
  • Review and provide feedback on deliverables produced by consulting firms.
  • Develop work plans, budgets, procurement plans, and monitoring frameworks to track deliverables from project staff, national and international consultants, and consulting firms.
  • Organize project events, including inception report launches, workshops, training sessions, and consultation meetings.
  • Prepare slide presentations, concept notes, and workshop reports.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports, including financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit workshop reports to senior management and donors, including UNDP and GEF.
  • Ensure that financial expenditures and procurement comply with the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD)/MoE operational manuals and policies, as well as with UNDP/GEF operational standards, environmental safeguards, and gender policies.
  • Coordinate with the line government ministries, local authorities, UNDP teams, development partners, community forestry organizations, community protected areas, civil society organizations (CSOs), UN agencies, and implementing partners.
  • Provide technical guidance on watershed management, ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, agroforestry, sustainable finance, climate-resilient nature-based livelihoods, climate change, and disaster risk reduction.
  • Support policy review and harmonization for biodiversity-friendly agriculture and climate adaptation in protected landscapes, aligned with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and GEF indicators.
  • Strengthen capacity at national and subnational levels for effective coordination, planning, and implementation of integrated watershed management in the Tonle Sap Basin (TSB) and Phnom Kulen Mountain Landscape (PKML).
  • Strengthen community resilience in the TSB and PKML by scaling up nature-based solutions through training and sustainable finance, integrati.
