Develop and adapt small-scale and commercial insect farming production models that are technically feasible, cost-effective, and suitable for smallholder farmers particularly for crickets, grasshoppers, and black soldier flies.
Prepare insect farming guidelines: production manuals on breeding, feeding, housing, harvesting, and processing and delivering ToTs to extension staff, field facilitators, CAOs and hands-on coaching to smallholder farmers on insect breeding, feeding, housing, hygiene, harvesting, and processing techniques.
Support the establishment of pilot and demonstration insect farming units to showcase good practices and viable models.
Promote quality control, food safety, and basic processing and storage standards to improve product quality and market acceptance.
Facilitate linkages between insect producers, buyers, feed suppliers, and processors to strengthen market access and value chain development.
Integrate insect farming into nutrition-sensitive agriculture and livelihood diversification activities, particularly for women and vulnerable households.
Document technical lessons, good practices, and operational challenges to support learning and scaling of insect farming.

លក្ខខណ្ឌតម្រូវការងារ

Master's Degree in livestock production, entomology, animal science, or a related field, providing a strong technical foundation in insect biology, rearing systems, and feed production.
Designing and supporting efficient and safe insect farming operations.
Designing and implementing nutrition-sensitive agriculture programs, particularly those that link agricultural production with improved household diets and nutrition outcomes, promoting nutrient-dense crops, home gardens, small livestock, aquaculture, and diversified farming systems.
Have a strong understanding of gender and social dimensions of nutrition, especially the roles of women in food production, preparation, and household decision-making.
Experience ing with extension services, community , and development partners.
Strong facilitation, training, and communication skills.
Strong experiences in effectively support farmers and field staff in integrating nutrition objectives into agricultural interventions.
Good English skills are required and a willingness to travel and in remote areas.
