ABOUT THE ROLE
Site Engineer / Site Assistant will provide vital operational support by monitoring sub-contractors during structural and finishing stages, logging daily progress and labor, and tracking site materials to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within quality specifications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise sub-contractors on-site to ensure all construction and decorative works meet strict engineering standards, architectural drawings, and scheduled delivery timelines.
- Inspect day-to-day structural elements (concrete, rebar, formwork) and architectural finishing works (bricklaying, tiling, painting, site cleaning) to ensure full compliance with technical specifications.
- Inspect incoming deliveries on-site, track inventory balances, forecast weekly site requirements, and collaborate closely with the Stock Controller and Procurement Department to prevent material shortages (such as cement, rebar, sand, gravel, and bricks) while minimizing site wastage.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily and weekly progress reports, daily manpower tracking logs, and contractor claim reports directly to the Site Manager.
- Assist project leadership in sourcing, evaluating, and engaging qualified trade sub-contractors as project requirements arise.
- Execute material issuance logs across the entire job site and perform additional site management assignments as directed by the Site Manager or Project Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3+ years proven experience as a Site Engineer, or Field Engineer in building construction projects covering both structural works and architectural/finishing stages.
- Practical knowledge of construction methodologies, reading technical/structural shop drawings, quality assurance standards, and safety practices.
- Solid skills in site reporting, contractor claim verification, daily labor monitoring, and on-site material management.
- Strong communication, leadership, and contractor coordination skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work proactively on-site and report effectively to senior project leadership.
