About the role
- The Managing Director (MD) serves as the strategic leader and operational architect of the organization.
- This role is responsible for translating the Board’s vision into actionable strategies, ensuring financial sustainability, and overseeing the day-to-day execution of programs.
- The MD will lead a diverse team to maximize social impact while maintaining high standards of governance and transparency.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the organization’s mission and long- term goals.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set priorities and evaluate organizational performance.
- Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and program development.
- Act as the primary liaison between staff and the Board, providing regular updates on KPIs, financial health, and program milestones.
- Ensure the organization operates in compliance with all local and international laws and ethical standards.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation in coordination with the finance team.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency across all departments (Programs, HR, Finance, and Communications).
- Oversee complex projects, from infrastructure and facility requirements to field-level program delivery.
- Implement robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to measure and report on social impact.
- Program Oversight: Ensure the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and services.
- Monitor program outcomes and impact, making adjustments as needed to improve effectiveness.
- Support program managers in meeting objectives and maintaining quality standards.
- Fundraising and Development: Lead fundraising initiatives, including grant writing, donor relations, and event planning.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in financial stewardship.
- Develop and oversee the annual budget, ensuring rigorous financial controls and resource optimization.
- Lead diversified fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and corporate partnerships.
