ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Chief Accountant will manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring the integrity of the financial books and maintaining strict internal controls across all hotel operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports tailored to hospitality operations.
Oversee the daily reconciliation of all hotel revenue streams, including room bookings, food and beverage outlets, events, and auxiliary guest services.
Monitor operating costs, analyze variance reports on food, beverage, and asset inventories, and collaborate with procurement to optimize purchasing efficiency.
Ensure full compliance with Cambodian tax regulations by preparing accurate monthly and annual tax filings (VAT, Withholding Tax, Tax on Salary) and managing audit preparations.
Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely vendor payments, efficient credit control, and optimal cash flow management.
Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting team (including night auditors and cashiers) to maintain high standards of accuracy, discipline, and professional growth.
Requirements
4+ years of experience as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant, with a strong preference for candidates coming directly from the hotel, hospitality, or tourism sector.
Deep familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) and POS software, alongside advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of Cambodian Tax laws, labor laws, and Cambodian International Financial Reporting Standards (CIFRS).
Strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage high-volume transactional data.
Good command of written and spoken English to collaborate effectively with department heads, hotel management, and external auditors.
