ABOUT THE ROLE The Assistant Financial Controller will act as a vital bridge between day-to-day accounting operations and high-level strategic financial planning, supporting the Financial Controller in safeguarding company assets and optimizing cash flow. WHAT YOU WILL DO Assist in compiling and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring precision in project-based profitability reporting and cost allocations. Evaluate, refine, and enforce internal control systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate financial risks. Actively participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring department expenditures and providing detailed variance analysis against targets. Monitor corporate cash flow, manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) aging reports, and optimize general ledger accounts to maintain healthy liquidity. Supervise the preparation of accurate monthly and yearly Cambodian tax filings, maintaining total alignment with General Department of Taxation (GDT) regulations and supporting external audit preparations. Guide and mentor junior accounting and billing teams, fostering a culture of accuracy, timely month-end closures, and continuous professional growth.

3 to 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, accounting, or audit roles, ideally holding a senior accountant or assistant manager title. Prior experience working within tech startups, system integrators, professional services, or project-based business environments is highly valued. Advanced proficiency in modern accounting software, ERP frameworks, and Microsoft Excel; solid knowledge of Cambodian Accounting Standards (CIFRS) and local tax compliance laws. Exceptional analytical capabilities, sharp attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving complex financial bottlenecks. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present financial data and collaborate effectively across engineering, sales, and management teams.
