- Civil, Community Development SCHEDULE: Full-time SALARY: N/A POSITION SUMMARY Environment: Office and School/Project Sites Reports to: Head of Construction/ Project Manager-Construction Starting Date: As soon as possible Position Overview The Project Officer – Construction is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and reporting of BAMBOOS' construction and renovation projects in Cambodia. The position works closely with the Head of Construction and Project Manager to ensure construction projects are implemented effectively, on schedule and according to agreed quality standards and project requirements. The Project Officer will regularly coordinate with schools, communities, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders and will support site monitoring, documentation and reporting. The position is primarily focused on construction and renovation projects. However, as BAMBOOS is a small and collaborative organisation, the Project Officer may also be assigned to support projects under another department when required by organisational priorities and where the assignment is appropriate to their skills and capacity. .Working Approach The Project Officer – Construction is primarily responsible for construction and renovation projects, but may be assigned to support projects under another department when organisational needs require it. The specific project assignment may change over time based on project requirements, staff capacity, organizational priorities, and the employee’s skills and development. Such assignments will be coordinated by the Country Manager in consultation with the relevant Heads of Department and will normally be for specific projects or periods of time. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Planning & Implementation Support the planning and implementation of assigned BAMBOOS Construction and Renovation projects. Assist with project plans, activity schedules, timelines and implementation arrangements. Coordinate assigned project activities with schools, communities, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. Follow up on project activities and deadlines. Support the preparation and organisation of project materials and documentation and project site visit. Identify implementation, quality or scheduling issues and report them to the Project Manager or Head of Construction. Ensure assigned activities are implemented according to approved plans, specifications and procedures. Construction Monitoring & Quality Support regular monitoring of construction and renovation activities at project sites Follow up on construction progress, workmanship, materials and agreed specifications. Document construction progress through photographs, measurements, site notes and reports as required. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers on routine project matters.
