About the role

  • Develop and Maintain the ISO/IEC 17043 Quality Management System.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the EQA/PT Quality Management System in line with ISO/IEC 17043 requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, instructions, forms, and records.
  • Monitor implementation of the QMS and update documents based on operational needs and changes in accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain effective documents and record control for all EQA/PT activities.
  • Ensure confidentiality, impartiality, traceability, and appropriate control of external providers and subcontractors.
  • Identify and monitor quality risks and support implementation of appropriate control measures.
  • Plan and coordinate internal audits and follow up audit findings and nonconformities.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis, corrective actions, and monitoring of their effectiveness.
  • Monitor quality indicators and report significant quality issues to the NIPH Laboratory Manager.
  • Coordinate management reviews and compile relevant quality indicators, audit results, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Support staff training, competency assessment, and maintenance of competence records.
  • Coordinate readiness activities, documentation, and follow-up actions for ISO/IEC 17043 accreditation assessments.
  • Maintain accreditation records and coordinate with the accreditation body under the direction of the NIPH Laboratory Manager.
  • Support implementation and continual improvement of the laboratory QMS in accordance with ISO 15189.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring annual and quarterly quality improvement plans and indicators.
  • Follow up with the eight laboratories and NIPH OPD/Microbiology on identified quality gaps and agreed improvement actions.
  • Support maintenance and periodic review of the laboratory document control system.
  • Assist in planning and conducting internal audits and quality inspections.
  • Follow up nonconformities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and improvement activities.
  • Support preparation and coordination of ISO 15189 management review meetings.
  • Compile and monitor quality indicators, audit findings, corrective actions, and other relevant quality data.
  • Support preparation and follow-up for surveillance and reassessment activities.
  • Provide regular updates on quality activities, identified gaps, corrective actions, and accreditation progress.
  • Seek direction from the NIPH Laboratory Manager on significant quality issues, risks, or accreditation concerns.
  • Perform other relevant duties assigned by the NIPH Laboratory Manager and NIPH management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge or experience with laboratory Quality Management Systems, ISO 15189, and/or ISO/IEC 17043.
  • Experience in quality documentation, internal audit, root cause analysis, and corrective action is preferred.
  • Good planning, coordination, analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology, biological sciences, public health, quality management, or another relevant field.
  • Relevant experience in laboratory or quality management for at least 1 year.
