The Project Officer will support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Early Warning for All (EW4ALL), climate resilience, and disaster preparedness initiatives implemented by the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM).
The position will closely with government institutions, development partners, UN agencies, NGOs, academia, and the private sector to ensure effective implementation of project activities and achievement of project objectives.
Support the preparation and implementation of annual plans, activity s, budgets, and procurement plans.
Coordinate project implementation with NCDM departments, PCDMs, DCDMs, CCDMs, and development partners.
Organize coordination meetings, technical ing , shops, and stakeholder consultations.
Ensure project implementation complies with approved plans, donor requirements, and NCDM policies.
Support the integration of DRR and climate resilience into national and sub-national development planning.
Support implementation of project activities related to: Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM).
Early Warning for All (EW4ALL) and Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM).
Disaster preparedness, response, contingency planning, risk assessment, hazard mapping, and simulation exercises.
Emergency Operations Center (EOC), PRISM, CAMDi, EWS-1294 registration campaigns, and flood monitoring systems.
Development of DRM manuals, guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and capacity-building programmes.
Coordinate training shops, Training of Trainers (ToT), consultations, and simulation exercises.
Prepare technical and training materials and monitor training effectiveness.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with government agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and development partners.
Promote multi-sector coordination, knowledge sharing, and documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
Monitor project progress against plans and performance indicators.
Conduct field monitoring visits and collect, verify, and analyse project data.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports.
Maintain project documentation, databases, and filing systems.
Prepare success stories, case studies, communication materials, and support project evaluations.
Promote gender equality, disability inclusion, protection, and social inclusion throughout project implementation.
