The RD & MEAL Officer is responsible for leading and supporting Research and Development (RD) alongside Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Assessment, and Learning (MEAL) across AYLA-PSIS schools.

• The role ensures strong quality control and quality assurance of academic systems, school practices, and continuous improvement processes.
• A central priority is about Accountability and Assessment, ensuring that all schools consistently implement and align with the AYLA Academic Framework, curriculum standards, and assessment expectations.

• The role works closely with Heads of Department and School Principals to ensure that all required AYLA standards are implemented correctly, consistently, and with high quality.
• It also strengthens data management practices and reporting systems, ensuring that data is accurate and effectively used for decision-making.

In addition, the RD function plays a key role in professional development of teachers and staff, and in supporting the implementation of AYLA strategic direction and movement, ensuring that school practices evolve in alignment with organisational priorities.

Through structured monitoring, research-informed development, and evidence-based reporting, the RD & MEAL Officer contributes directly to the stability, sustainability, and long-term growth of AYLA schools.

Conduct research to support:

Curriculum development and improvement Teaching and learning innovation Assessment design and practices

Analyse internal and external data to identify:

Student performance trends Gaps in curriculum and instruction Opportunities for system improvement

Develop and refine:

Academic frameworks and guidelines Teaching and learning tools Assessment models and structures Professional Development and Strategic Alignment Support the design and implementation of professional development programmes for teachers and staff

Work with Heads of Department and school leaders to strengthen:
